World Kanreikai Karate camp is July 10th - 13th at Jiminy Peaks in Massachusetts, if you have not registered and are planning to attend, you should speak to Shihan Jose or myself right away and contact Sempai Mori at kanreikaimo@hotmail.com. We have applications here at the dojo.
 

Instructor Highlight

Sensei David Sheeger Kumite No Tachi   
Sensei David began his martial arts training at World Oyama Karate Headquarters in Manhattan in 1986. He currently holds a 4th degree black belt in this style. He was a member of the World Oyama Karate Full Contact Team from 1992-1997 and competed Nationally and Internationally in the Light Weight Division.

A spiritual practice, an avenue to physical fitness, an opportunity to learn self-control and discipline, a way to overcome fears, a movement exploration, a chance to meet people and be part of a community. The reasons vary as much as the population.

The mission of the Society for Martial Arts Instruction is to develop a community of smart, strong and compassionate bodies, minds and spirits through martial arts and related movement practices.

To accomplish this mission, the Society for Martial Arts Instruction offers a space and programs where people can practice, explore and examine the martial arts in; daily classes, weekend workshops, clinics, professional studies, and forums for research and discussion.

SFMAI is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501 (c) (3) organization. Your tax-deductible contribution will assist the development and maintenance of programs which help keep our community safe and empowered through the knowledge of movement.

 

Events

The Movement Fundamentals class is suitable for anyone seeking more ease and effectiveness in movement. It explores kinesthetic awareness and the basic principles of movement that underly all activities.

Past Events

"Still Moving" workshops were developed to explore the idea of "cross practice" similar to principles of athletic "cross training". The current series uses the inner focus, consciousness and sustained quality of yoga practice as a preparation for the quick, goal oriented, and externally focused practice of karate.
