Amy Matthews, CMA, SME, RYT, RSMT/RSME has been teaching movement since 1994. She is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst, a Body-Mind Centering Practitioner, and a Motherhand Shiatsu practitioner.
She is on the faculty of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, and teaches asana classes and anatomy workshops at Yoga Union, Movements Afoot and the Breathing Project in New York City. She teaches with Alison West on Yoga Union's Teacher Training program, and as part of Leslie Kaminoff's Teacher Training program at the Breathing Project.
Amy is certified as a yoga teacher by Heart of Yoga and Yoga Union, and is registered at the 500-hour level through Yoga Alliance. She is registered with ISMETA as a Somatic Educator and Therapist. She studies yoga with Alison West, Mark Whitwell and Kevin Gardiner, and studies kinesthetic anatomy with Irene Dowd and BMC with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.
